Fans of the Star Wars universe — today, we’re sharing some of the sights and sounds that made last weekend so special at Disney’s Hollywood Studios. Star Wars Weekends launched on the 30th anniversary of “Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back” and the big-screen debut of Boba Fett. So of course, the bounty hunter had a strong presence. Here’s what celebrity host Jeremy Bulloch and celebrity guest Daniel Logan had to say about the character they played and some favorite fan costumes from the event, including “purple” Darth Vader.
From the Disney Park Blog: In the weeks leading up to the 55th anniversary of Disneyland park – July 17, 1955 – we’ll be sharing a post every week to remember 55 years of magic, dreams and imagination. We’ll start with the most recent half a decade and work our way backwards. Each week, Disney Park Blog will pick one particularly memorable event in those five years to highlight.
This question comes from Tara, who asks: My son will have just turned 5 at the time of our trip, and is small for his age – he would LOVE to be selected to participate in the onstage battle with Darth Vader. Do you have any suggestions about what he/we can do to increase his chances (e.g., get there at a certain time to claim an early spot, have him yell loud and be animated, wear a Star Wars costume, etc.)? Also, are there any pay-for options that would allow him to do something like this? Thank you. Tara: Great question and you’re going to love this answer. Disney changed the method for participating in Jedi Training Academy last November.
