To support the “Disney Friends for Change Games” on Disney Channel and Disney XD , Disney.com has launched an online destination at Disney.com/ProjectGreen , where kids and families can take part in the Games from home and help the planet — by making personal pledges of their own, playing online versions of the Games, and making art that matters! When kids play online versions of the Games at Disney.com/ProjectGreen , they can donate the points they earn to one of the four charities involved. At the end of the Games, the charity with the most points given by the Disney.com online community will receive $100K. In addition to playing online games for charity, kids can view exclusive video content and participate in a number of fun online activities.

This past weekend, Disney Friends for Change took over private island Castaway Cay in the Bahamas for a special PaintFest project with Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida . The event included children from the organization who sailed aboard the special Benefit Preview Cruise , bringing together community leaders and invited guests to help raise $750,000 for Boys & Girls Clubs of Central Florida. Disney Channel stars Brandon Mychal Smith, Doug Brochu and Allisyn Ashley Arm were on hand representing Disney Friends for Change, a multiplatform initiative that empowers kids and encourages them to help the planet. Together Friends for Change stars, children from Boys & Girls Clubs, Disney Cruise Line VoluntEARS and Mickey Mouse himself took part in painting the giant mural.

This question comes from Tara, who asks: My son will have just turned 5 at the time of our trip, and is small for his age – he would LOVE to be selected to participate in the onstage battle with Darth Vader. Do you have any suggestions about what he/we can do to increase his chances (e.g., get there at a certain time to claim an early spot, have him yell loud and be animated, wear a Star Wars costume, etc.)? Also, are there any pay-for options that would allow him to do something like this? Thank you. Tara: Great question and you’re going to love this answer. Disney changed the method for participating in Jedi Training Academy last November.
