  This week we heard some excellent Disney news from the opening of the all new D-Street at Disneyworld Downtown Disney , to Guy Fieri at the Disneyland California Food and Wine Festival , and the official release date of the Alice in Wonderland Blu-Ray Speaking of Alice our own Anne’ was out shopping recently and found some interesting Alice in Wonderland items to purchase from nail polish to clothing and accessories at Claire’s . Check them out! Here are a few more articles from around the web that I thought were quite interesting that I wanted to share. I want to start out with all new Blog Carnival for the month of April. This months edition has some great articles from all the best Disney blogs, including some brand new ones! Check it out. Jerry over at Disney 4 Dads shares with us what to do on a Dreary Day at Walt Disney World . What he mentions I still need to do but just have never gotten around to doing. It’s on my list though Couponing for Disney is another great site that I try to visit daily. Trying to single out one of Kristin’s articles would be impossible as she has so many money saving offers coming in almost every few minutes. I did hear someone was featured on her site this week, and shared how to Save Money at Walt Disney World . Another great site that I spend my days at is Stitch Kingdom . Brad really hunts down the Disney News articles including this one from this past week. Disney Favorites from Travel Channel Arrive on Blu-ray and DVD for First Time And now news from one of our local North Carolina Blogs it comes to us from Progress City USA . Michael Crawford at Progress City USA posts a review of Waking Sleeping Beauty, a film that we all must see . Finally keep sending in those Disney Questions Chris is loving it. She enjoys doing the research and helping you find answers to those tough Disney question.   Buzz and Woody to be Featured at Disneyland Resort Paris

  As the date for Pixar’s Toy Story 3 Movie draws closer and closer Disneyland Resort Paris is ramping up for the release. The official word is that Woody and Pals are part of the New Generation Festival which sees a host of film characters transferring from the big screen to real life to take part in this year long celebration. Woody and his Space Ranger friend Buzz will now be familiar faces on the French version of Main Street, USA, and they are certainly not alone. Love-able rats Remy and his portly brother Emile from Ratatouille have been plucked from the big screen along with Stitch, Sulley from Monsters Inc and some of the The cast of the Incredibles. DLRP Magic.com shares some more info: Join the festival-fun at the all-new generation shows and parades – where new Princess Tiana jazzes up the Once Upon a Dream Parade, and gourmet chef Remy drives you wild with excitement in Disney’s Stars ‘n’ Cars. Or choo-choo-choose which star to meet first on the Disney all stars express and at Monsters Inc. Scream Academy — shriek ‘n’ greet like no other! And, starting from Summer, shrink to the size of a toy in Toy Story Playland for the BIGGEST new family attractions: Toy Soldiers Parachute Drop, Slinky Dog Zigzag Spin and RC Racer. Finally, gather in front of Sleeping Beauty Castle for a true Disney showstopper finale — an all-singing, all-dancing, all-together perfect end to the perfect day.   Tom Staggs has been on the move this month, touching ground in Hong Kong, Tokyo, Paris and Germany during his first “world tour” as chairman of Parks & Resorts . And at each stop, there’s been a recurring theme: people passionate about building the future. That’s certainly happening in Germany where construction on the Disney Dream cruise ship has been moving right along. Tom arrived right as they were beginning to join the hull sections together to form a ship structure that will feature 14 decks and 1,250 staterooms with a capacity of 4,000 guests. It’s hard to imagine, but there will be approximately 66 million pounds of steel cut and welded together, some 37,000 pipes produced, and nearly 5,000 miles of cabling used by the time it is complete. The ship will sail from Germany to its new home in Port Canaveral, Florida later this year before embarking on its maiden voyage in January. Tom also visited Disneyland Paris just in time for the launch of The New Generation Festival. The year-long celebration will highlight a new generation of heroes from Disney films such as “The Princess and the Frog” and “Lilo & Stitch,” as well as Disney•Pixar’s “Toy Story,” “Ratatouille” and “The Incredibles.” Tom also got a status report on the new Toy Story Playland coming to life at Paris’ Walt Disney Studios this August. Earlier in March, the team at Hong Kong Disneyland also welcomed Tom during his first visit to Asia as chairman. Tom met with Cast Members, dived into the operational details of the resort and was briefed on Hong Kong Disneyland’s celebration honoring the Chinese Year of the Tiger. Tom said one of the highlights of his visit was meeting with Hong Kong Disneyland’s very first Cast Member, Mariam Im, and presenting her with a 10-year service pin. And during his visit to Tokyo Disney Resort , Tom managed to pack in more than even our most seasoned guests by touring both Tokyo Disneyland and Tokyo DisneySea . He met with several Cast Members and Imagineers – and tried all eight flavors of popcorn sold at the parks. Tom summed up his recent travels this way: “When you spend time at all our properties, you appreciate how unique each one really is. Of course, there is a lot that is the same. Our properties share the same DNA. But at the end of the day, each has its own identity, its own heritage. And each has its own individual challenges. One thing stands out above all else though, and that is the quality, strength and passion of our Disney Cast members.”
